I support change-makers in taking on today’s big issues
so that we can make deliberate steps towards a society centring consciousness, connection and care for our people and planet.
Many of us crave to see changes
in the way we approach health, education, food, energy, and mobility. We want to see care truly revolving around people's well-being, education focused on helping our children thrive and food nourishing us as well as the ecosystem we are part of.
But, change is hard. And changing systems even harder. We can feel helpless in the face of these constructs we once created to serve us, but that now somehow seem to own us. Many brilliant, brave and gritty change makers impact the way we do things. But none of us can do it alone.
We need clarity to reflect on the complex challenges we are facing. We need hope and creativity to imagine radically different ways. We need courage to make a start, and experiment. And above all, we need each other, to collaborate.
I research, write about and consult on system innovation and systemic change.
I apply my background in human-centred design, societal transitions and behaviour change to support teams, organisations and networks in creating systemic impact, whether this is in health, education, food, energy, mobility, housing or any other big theme of our time.
What does that look like?
Research
I dive into the field of systems thinking and doing, to identify patterns and connect the dots.
I look both at the theory and practice of system innovation and transitions, and observe what is happening here in Amsterdam, as well as around the world.
Writing
I connect the theory on systemic change and transitions to our day to day experiences.
I reflect on and write about the ways our systemic issues shine through in our daily interactions, and on the ways in which I am part of the system myself.
Consulting
I help teams, organisations, and networks make conscious steps towards systemic change.
I apply my skills as problem framer and bridge builder to help create actionable system insights, envision alternative futures and explore paths towards change.
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
